Two men charged after man threatened with fake gun in Brierfield attempted robbery

Two men from Nelson have been charged following an attempted robbery where a man was allegedly threatened with an imitation firearm.

20-year-old Muhammad Dandish, of Walter Street, and 20-year-old Malik Kai Khan, of Albert Street, have been charged with:

  • attempted robbery
  • and possession of an imitation firearm whilst committing a schedule 1 offence

Emergency services were called out to Walter Street in Brierfield just after 3pm on Tuesday 24th February to reports a man had been assaulted and threatened.

The victim, a man in his 20s, reportedly had an imitation firearm pointed at him before he was assaulted.

Demands were also made for his phone and money.

Dandish and Khan are due at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on 26th February.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and an individual who intervened during the altercation to come forward.
