Arrest after charity box and tip jar cash stolen

Police have arrested a man, after a business burglary in Leyland, in which cash from a charity box and tip jar was stolen.

It happened at around 11.15 pm on Monday 24th August 2026, when a brick was thrown through the window of Benjamin Jack’s barbers on Longmeaneygate. £100 in cash was then taken from the jar and box behind the counter, along with a £100 hairdryer.

Today, a 36 year-old man from Leyland has been arrested, on suspicion of burglary.

He is also under arrest on suspicion of theft, after a shoplifting incident at Aldi in Leyland on Friday 21st August, when £56 worth of products were stolen.
