Woman in critical condition after being knocked down by van in Maidstone

A woman in her 70's remains in a critical condition in hospital after being knocked down by a van in Maidstone.

Police say the accident happened Shortly before 8.20am yesterday morning (14 May).

A white Fiat Ducato van was reversing along Market Buildings towards the High Street, when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to a London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested in relation to the incident. He has since been released on bail.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries and urge anyone who saw the incident to contact them. Anyone with information should call 01622 798538 or email [email protected], quoting reference EW/JM/031/25.
