Kent fire crews have rescued two people from the roof of their car after they became stranded in a flooded ford.

It happened in Eynsford Village this morning.

Two fire engines attended and crews wearing dry suits helped the occupants from the roof of the car and took them onto dry land. They were both checked over as a precaution by SECAmb paramedics.

It is believed water entered the engine and caused it to fail.

It is the same location that emergency services were called to on Wednesday to deal with a similar incident.

It has prompted a fresh reminder for people not to try to drive through floodwater with a warning that it is often a lot deeper than it looks.
