Three teenagers who killed a man they thought was a paedophile after luring him to a beach on the Isle of Sheppey have been jailed.

Alexander Cashford, 49, met one of the teenagers in an arcade days before his death on August 10 2025, and gave her his number.

Prosecutors claim that all three teenagers later exchanged messages with Mr Cashford under the alias Sienna and agreed to meet him by the sea wall on August 10.

Mr Cashford and the girl walked together along the seafront while the two boys followed behind, the court heard.

Mobile phone footage presented at the trial showed the 16-year-old boy striking Mr Cashford on the head with a bottle.

The footage also captures the girl shouting: "F paedophile. I'm f 16. You f** paedophile," during the incident.

A post-mortem examination revealed significant injuries including fractures to Mr Cashford's ribs, which had punctured his lung, and 30 external injuries.

A pathologist told the court he ultimately died from "chest injuries".

A 16-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl have been jailed for seven years and a 15-year-old boy has been jailed for five years.
