Structural checks at Sheppey pool after treefall on roof

Structural checks are taking place today at Sheppey Leisure Centre, after a tree that fell on the swimming pool roof during Storm Benjamin was lifted off the building.

The site's been closed since the tree came down, but bosses are hoping that subject to safety approval it'll be able to open its doors again - an annoucement's due this afternoon.

A large crane was brought onto the site on Thursday to help remove the tree.
