A man who violently assaulted three people and attacked police officers during a party in Dartford celebrating his release from prison has been jailed for more than five years.

Shane Doyle, 44, had only recently been released when he attended a gathering at a house on Lunedale Road on 8 February 2025.

The event turned into a violent ordeal when Doyle assaulted two women and a man before also kicking and spitting at officers who responded to the scene.

Kent Police were called to the property at around 8.30pm.

Upon arrival, they discovered one of the female victims at the bottom of the stairs.

She had been grabbed by the throat, pushed down the stairs, and both kicked and punched during a prolonged attack.

She suffered multiple injuries, including cuts to her face and arm, a fractured hand, and a dislocated knee.

Another woman at the party sustained internal bruising after being punched and was further assaulted as she tried to shield the first victim.

As the women attempted to flee, Doyle threatened to kill them. He eventually left the property, allowing the victims to lock themselves inside and contact police.

Doyle, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene.

He was later charged with grievous bodily harm, two counts of assault by beating, possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon and two counts of assault on an emergency worker.

Doyle denied the assaults but was convicted following a trial.

On 3 October 2025, at Maidstone Crown Court, he was sentenced to five years and 11 months in prison.

A restraining order was also issued to protect the three victims.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Julia Dell said: ‘This was a brutal and sustained attack that left multiple victims physically and emotionally traumatised.

‘Doyle showed a complete disregard for the safety of others, including our officers who responded to protect those in danger.

‘His conviction and sentence reflect the seriousness of his actions, and we hope it brings some measure of justice and reassurance to the victims.’
