Man charged for possessing a knife after assault in Ashford

A 19-year-old man suffered facial injuries during an attack

A man's been charged with having a knife after a serious assault in Ashford.

Kent Police were called to reports of an assault in Rayworth Court at 6.45pm on Friday (10 October).

Emergency services attended the scene where a 19-year-old man had sustained facial injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has since been remanded in custody after being charged with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife.

James Wood, of Adams Drive, Willesborough, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 October.

He will next appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 10 November, 2025.
