Kent baby bank gifts mums Mother’s Day care packages
Kent’s only baby bank ‘Mama to Mamas’ raises awareness for families this Mother’s Day
Mama to Mama is the first and only baby bank service in Thanet, Kent and they have made 60 care packages for mothers that use their services.
Mama to Mama started as a call to action by a local mother, to provide essential new born baby items to vulnerable families living in poverty, through preloved donations.
The care packages are a collaboration of businesses adding items to hampers, coming to the value of nearly £80.
Charity founder Jane furnace says, "We're really excited about to show the mums that we support, we care about them."
Growing to meet the increased demand due to the cost of living crisis, Mama to Mama now supports children up to 5 years old, plus ongoing support for family well-being.
The charity is there for all who needs and would like to use Mother's day to spread awareness for help and support available to them.
Jane adds "Remember that people are there around to support you and don't be afraid to reach out. We're here, and there is other services! And don't be afraid to ask, because people want to help."
