Two men charged with murder after man's death in Sittingbourne

A man died after a collision with a car in the town centre on Saturday evening

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre have charged two men with murder.

Officers were called at 9.30pm on Saturday to a report of a collision involving a car and a man on St Michael’s Road.

The pedestrian reportedly fell from a wall after being chased. He then collided with the car near to the junction with Dover Street.

A man in his 30s died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

A police investigation was launched and two suspects were arrested on Monday and on Wednesday this week. Officer's enquiries also led to the seizure of a quantity of cocaine.

Jack Hunt, 33, of Platinum Way, Borden, and Chris McClean, 43, of Pembury Court, Sittingbourne, were charged with murder and are due to appear in court today. McClean was also charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine.
