Levi Silcott has been sentenced to six years in prison following a violent and random attack on a woman in Gillingham.

The assault took place on 23rd April 2025, when Silcott dragged the woman into an alleyway on Seaview Road and punched her repeatedly in the face.

The victim suffered facial fractures and has since undergone medical and reconstructive surgery.

Investigators were able to identify Silcott as the attacker through extensive CCTV footage that showed a man getting out of a car wearing clothing similar to that worn by the offender.

Detectives tracked the vehicle's movements, leading them to 26-year-old Silcott of Simmons Drive, Dagenham.

He was arrested in Ilford on 21st May and charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Despite denying the offence, Silcott was found guilty at Maidstone Crown Court following a trial.

He was sentenced at the same court on Wednesday 18th February.

Detective Constable Emma Laimbeer, who led the investigation, described Silcott's actions as "unprovoked and horrific."

“Silcott’s violent actions were unprovoked and horrific, leaving an innocent woman with serious injuries and trauma.

"That he denied his actions and put the courageous victim through the ordeal of a trial was despicable. He belongs in jail and Gillingham is a much safer place for women in his absence,” DC Laimbeer said.
