An effigy of FIFA President Gianni Infantino will be burned at this year's Edenbridge Bonfire Society annual celebration.

The 36ft tall model will join Guy Fawkes for a procession through the streets of the village from 18:00GMT on Saturday 07 November, before a fireworks display and bonfire in the park.

Organisers said they wanted to "avoid politics" this year, but chose Infantino for a "string of decisions" made at the 2026 World Cup.

Other nominees included Tesla founder Elon Musk, Prime Minister Andy Burnham and housing secretary Angela Rayner.

Around 20 floats will be involved in the procession, with more than 1,000 flaming torches lighting the route.

The Edenbridge Bonfire Society has been running events in the town since 1928, and are preparing to celebrate 100 years in 2028.
