Folkestone rapist jailed for campaign of abuse against victim
Lloyd Thomas sentenced to 10 years for sexual offences
A man from Folkestone who targeted his victim over several months has been jailed for multiple sexual offences.
Lloyd Thomas, 58, of Risborough Lane, was convicted of two counts of rape, three sexual assaults, and one harassment offence following a trial at Canterbury Crown Court.
The offences occurred over a three-month period until the victim came forward and contacted Kent Police in November 2024.
Specialist detectives launched an investigation, arresting Thomas three days after the victim reported the abuse. He denied all charges but was found guilty by a jury.
On Thursday 20th November 2025, Thomas was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to spend an additional four years on licence.
Detective Constable Gemma Chadwick, reflecting on the impact of the sentence, said, “Thomas is a dangerous sexual predator who subjected his victim to a campaign of dreadful abuse. I am pleased that the victim found the courage to come forward, so that we could investigate Thomas’ crimes and ensure that he was made to face the consequences of his actions. I hope the sentence that has been imposed will help to bring her a sense of closure.”
The investigation and sentencing aim to highlight the importance of support for victims and the dedication of law enforcement to prosecute cases of sexual abuse.
