Driver in his 20s reportedly assaulted following collision near Northfleet

Police seek witnesses and dashcam footage in connection with the assault

Kent Police are investigating an assault involving a driver in his 20s following a collision near Northfleet.

The incident occurred on New Barn Road at 8.52am on Saturday (7th February).

The driver was reportedly assaulted and was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as not life-changing or life-threatening.

Kent Police officers closed the road to conduct an investigation into the events surrounding the collision and subsequent assault.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

He has been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
