Sevenoaks support hub open new community group for women
The Community Cupboard say they hope it will be a 'safe space' for women in the local area

The Community Cupboard in West Kingsdown, near Sevenoaks, is launching a new support group for women, called the Daisy Chain group.
The women-only initiative aims to offer a safe space for those facing challenging circumstances, hoping to provide friendship and support through creative activities and discussions.
Speaking to Greatest Hits Radio Lynda Harrison from the charity said:
"I think through our work as a support hub, we found increasingly that there are a lot of vulnerable women out there, lonely women, women in difficult situations, whether that be in relationships, with families,
"And there is a gap there for groups like ours, we're trying to bridge that gap. We're trying to give people the opportunity to come together. So our first one will be over a cup of tea and a piece of cake."
But there are plans for a range of activities going forward:
"We've got the Christmas wreath making already booked in. We're looking to maybe do some meditation or some yoga, and it might be that we go out and have a brief walk or whatever. But there's going to be a variety.
"We're going to be led by the group of women as well. If there's something that they feel that they would like offered and we're not offering it, it's something we can look into and provide."
Sessions will be held monthly on the first Friday from 1 to 3pm. Participants can expect activities like Christmas wreath making, self-defence basics, and sound meditation among others.
The programme is currently set to run for a year, with support and from The Kent Police and Crime Commissioner's office as part of its Victim Services Funding.
The sessions will be held at the Community Cupboard Hub on London Road, and are tailored to accommodate women with family commitments, offering flexibility.
