Crews tackle large fire in Margate

Kent Fire and Rescue are tackling a large fire that has broken out at an industrial unit on the outskirts of Margate.

Five fire engines are currently in attendance and crews are wearing breathing apparatus and using main jets to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is not currently known.

An update at 10am from the service confirmed that eight fire engines were in attendance as crews continued to extinguish the fire.

People living or travelling in the area were still being advised to take avoiding action.

The service have asked people to share this information with any loved ones in the area who may be affected but do not have access to the internet.
