Today marks 10 years of Pride Canterbury, attendees are expected to celebrate with performances from Atomic Kitten, Natasha Hamilton and Beth McCarthy.

The parade will begin at 11 am on Canterbury High Street, before processing to Dane John Gardens, where there are expected to be market stalls and performances across the afternoon.

Those attending are advised to leave a sensible gap for the parade to pass though, in order to avoid any delays.

Festival performers in the line up for 2026 include Atomic Kitten, Natasha Hamilton, Booty Luv, Beth McCarthy, Courtney Act and Caroline Kingsbury.

Levelling up

The Parade willbe the first major festival at Dane John Gardens since it was renovated as part of Canterbury City Council's 'Canterbury Unlocked' scheme, which focuses on regenerating major public spaces.

Talking to Greatest Hits Radio Kent about the changes put in place through the park, council leader Cllr Alan Baldock said:

"The garden's been completely refurbished to do with our levelling up agenda.

"Lots of its old charm built back into it. Bandstand's completely refurbished.

"It's everything from flower beds to the old-fashioned lampposts, the Biggleson lampposts.

"We've repaired the mound, the famous mound that people see in the Dane John. There's new play equipment for the kids as well, we're ready."

He added:

"Pride is the first big event, but we've had the garden open last weekend as well. It's been slowly opened up over the last few weeks as well and enjoyed by loads.

"It's always a good event, Pride in Canterbury. We're very proud to have it here."
