Worcestershire County Council's lead for adult social care has said he's pleased with the results from the service's recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and it will look to continue to make improvements where needed.
The report, which was published last week following the three-day visit from the CQC in November, gave it an overall rating of 'good'.
In it, it commended things like "most people were assessed in good time with limited waits for most services", while also highlighting some it could improve on, such as improving access to services in rural communities.
On being given the feedback and the rating, strategic director for adults and communities at Worcestershire County Council, Mark Fitton, said: "I'm delighted with the CQC assessment rating of good, I think more so for the staff and the teams that deliver the service on a day-to-day basis who aways go the extra mile.
"I think it's really good to get that sort of external recognition and an external look at actually how you're really providing good provision within your adult social care services.
"So I welcome the assessments, and it just gives a sense of assurance from an external body to say your view of what you're providing is correct."
Focusing on some of the bits which were identified as ones to work on, he added: "There are a couple of areas in here around where we'll need to make improvements.
"We’re already planning in relation to those improvements as we go forward and we won't rest on our laurels, we’ll always look to improve services as we go along."
In total, the service's performance across nine areas was reviewed, including leadership, safeguarding, partnerships and how people experience care.
