Ben Parkinson, a 37-year-old from Swallowfields, Worcester, has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for his involvement in two robberies and a theft.

Parkinson was convicted at Worcester Crown Court where he faced charges for robbing a Morrisons Daily on Ankerage Green and a Co-op store on Ambleside Drive.

The Morrisons Daily robbery occurred on 13th November 2025 when Parkinson filled a large bag with store goods and left without paying.

A staff member confronted him but was punched by Parkinson, who then fled the scene.

He received a three-year and four-month prison sentence for this robbery and was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge.

For the associated theft, he was sentenced to six months, which will run concurrently.

Parkinson's 27th April 2026 robbery at the Co-op involved threatening employees by claiming he was an ‘armed robber’ and intended to ‘stab’ them.

He pushed a staff member to the back of the store before stealing alcohol and demanding tobacco.

This led to an additional 16-month prison sentence, which will run consecutively.

Detective Constable Peter Ryland, member of the Integrated Offender Management team, commented on the case.

"We hope this sentence for Parkinson shows that when a managed individual re-offends, they are dealt with robustly and justice is swiftly sought," Ryland said.

"West Mercia Police take offences against retail staff very seriously. The serious nature of his offences was reflected in sentencing."

Ryland further added, "We would like to recognise the staff for their bravery and resilience during what was a traumatic experience for them and hope this result will help them to move on from these incidents."
