Over 800 miles of running lies ahead of two brothers from Worcester from today (18 May).

Siblings Joe and Alfie Pritchard are setting off on their continuous two-man relay across the UK where they'll alternate between the one who is running.

The pair get things underway in John O'Groats and are aiming to make it to Land's End in eight days, covering about 845 miles (1360km).

They're set to be supported on the way by family and friends, 27-year-old Alfie said they've been putting in the miles in preparation for it all and have most importantly, got their route laid out.

"We go through mainly Edinburgh on the Wednesday, then we come through the Lake District on Thursday, then Manchester, Birmingham on Friday," he said.

"Hopefully it’ll be Worcester on Saturday morning, obviously depending on how we're going at that point, whether we're behind or hopefully ahead of schedule.

"Then down into Cornwall Sunday and hopefully we finish on the Monday."

24-year-old Joe added: " “We chose to go through these cities on purpose so we could see as many people as we could and get as much support as we can.

"Seeing people on the way who've come out to support you, especially in the middle of the night, means so much and gives you such a big boost."

They're fundraising for Help for Heroes through the challenge, and also underwent a session of physiological and performance analysis at the University of Worcester ahead of it to help them get a better understanding of how their bodies respond to different exercise intensities.
