Witnesses sought after man found with serious injuries in Hereford
Police seek the public's help following a life-threatening injury
A man was discovered with serious head injuries in Hereford early this morning, prompting an appeal for witnesses.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident around 5am on the Great Western Way between Sainsbury’s and Hunderton Bridge.
The man was taken to hospital and his condition is life-threatening.
Authorities are investigating how the injuries were caused.
Detective Chief Inspector Edward Slough is leading the enquiry.
He said: “An investigation is ongoing as to how the man sustained his injuries which are currently unexplained.”
Police are increasing their presence in the area for the next 24 hours as part of their investigation, conducting enquiries and anniversary checks.
They are asking for anyone who may have seen or heard anything between 2.30am and 5.30am to come forward.
DCI Slough said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen something in this location in the early hours of this morning or anyone who believes they have any information that can assist with our enquiries.”
He added that there is no wider threat to the public.
