A 20-year-old who stole high-value performance cars in south Worcestershire has avoided jail.

Connor Ashmore, of Alma Street, Halesowen, was handed a three-year term suspended for two years at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday 18 June.

He had been found guilty of multiple offences relating to eight burglaries or attempted burglaries of residential properties.

The court heard how he targeted Audis, BMWs and VW Golfs in Worcester, Crowle and Malvern between July and November 2025.

Detective Sergeant Callum Godwin from West Mercia Police said: “Ashmore deliberately targeted family homes in the middle of the night to steal high‑performance vehicles, causing significant distress and disruption to his victims.

“Burglary is a force priority for West Mercia Police hope this investigation shows how we are intensifying our focus on offenders who target residential dwellings with resolute determination to identify, arrest, charge and bring them before the courts.

“Although Ashmore avoided a custodial term this time, if he reoffends, he will be brought back before the courts and will be facing jail time.”
