Redditch United is aiming to shine a spotlight on sustainability through next season's away kit.

The club has launched its annual 'design a kit' competition for the third consecutive year where it gets children 16 and under from schools and those who play in their youth teams to come up with ideas for how the shirts look.

This time it is just getting them to create the away one, with the theme being sustainability and the environment after it recently announced it has become what it believes to be the second football club in the world to achieve carbon-neutral status.

Following the launch, chairman David Faulkner said: "We're trying to do a bit more than just football because we want to impact more people.

"There might not be into football, but they're very creative and this has been something that's been really exciting to do the last few years.

"The actual kits themselves, they're brilliant, when you do the shortlist there's always a few wacky ones, the very first year we had one that was like a doughnut, like all sprinkles on it and everything."

The entry deadline has been set for the 9 March.
