The vice-chair of the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST) has said seeing the men's side gain promotion at the weekend really meant a lot.

Harriers beat South Shields 2-0 in Saturday's National League North play-off final thanks to two first-half goals, which included a header from forward Kieren Donnelly and a strike from midfielder Charlie Cooper.

It means they'll be playing their football back in the National League next season, a division they were relegated from back in the 2023/24 campaign, and that is also one below the English Football League (EFL),

Tim Gibbons is the vice-chair of the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust who was at the game, he labelled the result as "fantastic" and great they've managed to secure promotion again.

"it's a huge thing really to be in the highest level of non-league football in the National League," he said.

"When the final whistle did go, just the elation of that, it was really good, not just for the fans and their celebrations but to see what it meant to the players and all the staff associated with the club.

"Whatever football team you follow there's always highs and lows, so when it is something good like a promotion or a cup success you've got to enjoy it, you've got to celebrate it and try to make it last as long as possible."

On what he's most looking forward to about seeing the side compete back in the National League, he added: "Just the sort of status of the league and seeing some of the former football league sides that will be visiting Aggborough, that will be really good.

"There's going to be probably quite a few transfers in. some players will go, hopefully we'll retain as many as we can do, but I'm just really looking forward to the start and getting the pre-season friendlies list and seeing who we've got in them."

The National League 2026/27 season is scheduled to start on Saturday 8 August 2026, with fixtures for it to be announced in time ahead of it.
