Distressing lamb attacks in Malvern Hills spark plea to dog owners
Trust urges people to keep dogs on leads near livestock
The Malvern Hills Trust has reported recent attacks on ewes and lambs, leading to severe injuries and the unfortunate death of a lamb.
These incidents occurred across various areas, including Northern Hills, Central Hills, Southern Hills, Old Hills, Castlemorton, and Hollybed Commons.
Cattle and sheep roam freely in these regions, and the Trust advises keeping dogs on leads around livestock to prevent distressing incidents.
Reports of attacks have highlighted the dangers dogs pose to livestock if not properly controlled.
Most recently, a lamb attack was so severe that it had to be put down due to injuries.
The Trust emphasizes that preventing such attacks is straightforward: keep dogs on a lead at all times near livestock, even if they usually respond to recalls.
