A man from Worcester is expecting to play in the region of between "500-600 tracks" over the course of a 24-hour music marathon for charity which starts today.

Steve Descher said he had considered doing a skydive or a wing walk, but decided on this one as he's been DJing and comparing for around about 50 years.

Things are expected to get underway at 2pm at The Feathers Sport and Music Lounge on The Tything in Worcester and will be continuing through to the same time tomorrow (3 May).

Mr Descher said he's doing it to fundraise for St Richard's Hospice after they cared for his brother.

"My brother spent a lot of time at the hospice before he passed away," he said.

"So I'm doing it for him to keep his name alive and to raise money for St Richard's Hospice who do a fantastic job.

"It's about giving something back, so if I can just help in one little way for playing 24 hours of music, then that's going to be good for them."

He added his music would be a mix between Motown, Northern Soul and some disco classics.
