A Hereford man, Andrew Mills, has been issued with a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following multiple offences across the city.

Mills, 42, of no fixed abode, is currently serving a 22-month sentence for intentional strangulation and assaulting a police officer.

The CBO was issued at Hereford Magistrates Court and imposes specific bans upon Mills' release, including restrictions on entering certain locations and engaging with businesses or public areas in ways deemed antisocial.

The order prevents Mills from accessing Tesco on Bewell Street, Hereford Library on St Owen Street, and the grounds of Hereford County Hospital except for emergencies or pre-arranged appointments.

He must leave any business premises immediately upon being asked, is banned from possessing open vessels of alcohol in public places, and cannot approach or stop traveling vehicles without legitimate reason.

Detective Sergeant Mark Jones highlighted the importance of the order in addressing Mills' persistent behaviour and safeguarding local businesses and the public.

Jones stated, "CBOs are an important tool that allow us to place restrictions on individuals whose behaviour has a significant impact on our communities."

The community is encouraged to report any breaches of the CBO, which can lead to further legal consequences for Mills.
