Founder of flag-hanging group Raise The Colours charged with 14 offences in Oxfordshire
The 45-year-old is due before magistrates next month
The founder of a group that has been attaching Union and St George's Cross flags to lampposts is facing 14 charges.
The counts include threatening and abusive behaviour, racially aggravated offences and assault.
Ryan Bridge, a 45-year-old from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, is the founder of Raise The Colours.
Thames Valley Police said Bridge has been charged following an investigation.
Bridge has been charged with seven counts of using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He also faces three counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of, or provoke, unlawful violence.
He has been charged with two counts of racially aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress, and one count of racially aggravated fear of violence.
There is also one count of common assault.
The force said the charges relate to reported incidents between 31st January and 31st March 2026 in Oxfordshire.
Bridge is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on 3rd November.
Oxfordshire County Council was granted a High Court injunction in July to stop people placing flags near highways.
The council said the flags involved safety risks, as well as trespass and obstruction.
Birmingham City Council is seeking a similar injunction.
It names Bridge and others and, if successful, it would prevent anyone from hanging flags.
