A 25-year-old from London has been sentenced to 31 months in jail after pleading guilty to drug offences at Worcester Crown Court.

Joshua Kanu, of Libra Road, Upton Park, Plaistow, was convicted on charges of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

The court handed Kanu a concurrent sentence of 31 months for each offence and ordered the destruction of the seized drugs, paraphernalia, and a knife.

He was also required to forfeit £1,008 in cash and pay a victim surcharge of £228.

Kanu's arrest followed reports of suspicious behavior from unwanted individuals at a property on Chedworth Drive, Warndon, on 19th August 2024.

Police discovered Kanu inside the property with substantial amounts of heroin and crack cocaine, drug-related items, mobile phones, and cash.

Forensic analysis of his phones indicated involvement in drug trafficking, revealing communications typical of dealer slang, discussions of weights, and drug cutting processes.

Detective Constable Paul Modley commented on the case, stating that Kanu had used the property to supply drugs to the Worcester area from London, embodying the strategy typical of county lines operations.

"This conviction removes another dealer from Worcester's streets," DC Modley said.
