Adam Rooney has been appointed as the interim manager of Hereford FC following the departure of Paul Caddis.

Club Chairman Chris Ammonds announced the decision and expressed confidence in Rooney's capabilities, highlighting his clarity, ideas, and enthusiasm for stepping into the leadership role.

Rooney, who will be assisted by goalkeeping coach Shaun Edwards and senior players, is set to lead training this evening at MandM Edgar Street Stadium, preparing the team for their upcoming National League North game against Southport on Saturday.

The club has already received more than 20 applications for the permanent managerial position and aims to conduct a thorough review before making an appointment. Though there is no set timeline, Ammonds emphasized the importance of choosing the right candidate.

Rooney's experience is seen as crucial in the interim, with the club urging supporters to rally behind him, Edwards, and the team to inspire a turnaround in their performance.
