The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire are looking for young people aged 16-25 to join a new youth advisory group.

They want young people to help make decisions around policing policy, procedures and practice.

This will be the first group of its kind in Gloucestershire.

Annie White is the Volunteer and Scrutiny Officer for the Office of the Police and Crime Commisoner.

She said, ''its going to be an action focussed group that will make real change.''

''Having young people in a group like this will make sure their voices are front and centre when it comes to making changes.''

The group will help young people develop leadership and debate skills. If they are interested the PCC can also help with support for future careers in the police or other public sectors.

Annie says the group will be built around the young people who are selected.

''We can take their thoughts and ideas and share them will the constabulary and work towards making actionable change.''

She added, ''it will make a big difference, it will improve trust and confidence in the police for young people. Having a group focused on just young people is important to show we care about their voices.''

Those interested are invited to contact Annie and the team to apply.

''If you're nervous to apply then just give us a call.'' Annie said.

The application process has been made as accessible as possible.

''If you don't want to apply by written word, you can send us a voice note, a video or even a piece of art that shows us who you are and why you want to join the panel.''

Young people have until 11th October 2026 to apply to be part of the youth advisory group.
