Gloucester library to reopen after roof leak
Tuffley Library in Gloucester looks forward to welcoming back the community
Tuffley Library, which has been closed since May due to a significant roof leak, is set to reopen on Monday, 14th September at 10am after major repairs and refurbishment.
The completed work includes a new roof and carpet, and new furniture will be added in the coming weeks as part of a wider refresh.
During the closure, regular groups and activities were temporarily hosted by other local libraries and community venues, ensuring continued service provision.
Library staff say they look forward to reconnecting with local schools, community groups, and residents as activities resume and the events programme expands.
Cllr Paul Hodgkinson, from Gloucestershire County Council, expressed delight in the library's reopening.
He said, ''We're delighted that Tuffley Library is reopening and look forward to welcoming residents back through the doors. Libraries are at the heart of many communities, offering much more than books. They provide spaces where people can learn new skills, access support, meet others and take part in a wide range of activities.''
