Three more arrests after suspected stabbing in Cheltenham
Six people are now in police custody in connection with the incident
Three more people have been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in Cheltenham yesterday (December 16).
Police were called to reports yesterday afternoon (December 16) that someone had been injured in an alleyway between Albert Road and Hungerford Street in the St Paul’s area of the town.
Emergency Services, including an air ambulance, attended but a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two teenagers and a man were arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
Last night, a further three individuals, two women and a man, all from Cheltenham—were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They also remain in custody.
A murder investigation is underway and there is expected to be an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue.
Superintendent James Glansfield said: “Officers from the Cheltenham Neighbourhood Police Team are patrolling the area for reassurance and we encourage anyone with any concerns or questions to speak to them.
“The investigation team are extremely grateful to the members of the public who have come forward with information and we’re also grateful to the wider community for their patience and understanding while an examination of the scene continues.”
