Stroud hosts its first Armed Forces Day event at Stratford Park
Community celebration to honour service members
Stroud is set to host its first Armed Forces Day at Stratford Park, celebrating the contributions of servicemen and women past and present.
The event, organised by local veterans and supported by Stroud Town & District Council, will feature an array of family-friendly stalls and entertainment from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Attendees can expect stalls connected to crown services, including the local Fire and Ambulance services, as well as displays from military organisations like the RBL, SSAFA, and performances by the Military Wives Choir.
Military vehicles will be showcased for families to look around and grab a photo with!
Veteran Stuart Love is excited to see the community come together for this special occasion, hoping the event will inspire the younger generation to consider a future in the armed forces.
"It is a worth-while career, good training and gives them a very good start in life. Everybody likes a band, a flypast and seeing a group of military vehicles."
The day promises fun and education for all ages, with food and drink available, celebrating the bravery and dedication of those who serve.
