Motorcyclist from Cheltenham in life-threatening condition after crash near Shipton

A motorcyclist from Cheltenham has sustained serious injuries after a crash near Shipton.
Officers from Gloucestershire Police were called to the A40 just before 7am this morning after a report that multiple vehicles had been involved in a collision.
The force said a subsequent report was received which stated that the rider of a brown BMW R 1200 GS motorbike had collided with a grey Vauxhall Combo panel van on the carriageway between Shipton Hill and Andoversford.
The rider of a motorbike, a man aged in his 60s and from Cheltenham, was initially taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains with life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
