A 39-year-old man from Stroud has been jailed for repeatedly breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Anthony McAndrew, who previously lived in Stroud, admitted to 11 breaches of his SHPO, as well as possessing extreme pornography and committing a burglary.
McAndrew was originally given a five-year SHPO by the court in May last year.
The order imposed various prohibitions concerning contact with children and the use of internet-enabled devices.
As a registered sex offender, McAndrew was under the supervision of an Offender Manager from Gloucestershire Constabulary's Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team.
Visits to McAndrew's home address in July, August, and December last year resulted in the seizure of three separate mobile phones.
As part of his SHPO, he was required to inform police within three days if he acquired a new mobile phone and could only use internet-enabled devices that displayed internet history.
He was found to have breached all these conditions.
Police say an extreme pornographic video was discovered on one of the confiscated phones.
McAndrew also admitted a burglary in May 2024, during which he stole a coin collection.
He was sentenced to 38 months in prison at Gloucester Crown Court on 8th September.
PC Claire Morris, from the Constabulary's Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders team said: "McAndrew has demonstrated that he cannot abide by the control measures which have been put in place to manage his behaviour within the community.
"A lot of work goes on in our team behind the scenes to try and safeguard those most vulnerable in our communities.
"When those stringent conditions are breached, it’s right that offenders are put back before the court, and I hope this sentence shows breaches like this will not be tolerated."
