Police investigating after girl punched in Gloucester
CCTV operators spotted the assault in King's Square
Police have released an image of a woman they would like to speak to after a 15-year-old girl was punched in the head in Gloucester.
Gloucestershire Police said officers were sent to King's Square after CCTV operators reported an assault they had witnessed at around 2.20pm on Thursday 3rd September.
What happened
Police said the girl had been sitting in the square as two women and a man left The Regal pub on St. Aldgate Street.
The force said she was watching the women, who were filming themselves on a mobile phone.
One of the women then told her to stop looking at them, according to police.
The woman threw a hard, plastic ball containing a drink at the girl, which hit her in the face, before walking off.
A few minutes later, the same woman returned and approached the girl.
Police said she grabbed the girl by the hair and punched her four times in the head.
The girl was not seriously injured, but police said she was shaken by what had happened.
Officers searched the area with support from CCTV operators, but the woman could not be found.
Police have not yet identified the woman pictured and are asking the public for information.
Description of the woman
Police described the woman as white, with long dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and aged in her mid-twenties.
She was wearing a cropped, black hooded top with 'Juicy' on the back, light blue skinny jeans and white trainers.
The man with her was pushing a pram.
