Eligible people in Gloucestershire urged to book Covid and Flu Vaccination
Getting vaccinated early will help protect those most at risk during the colder months.
As we prepare for the colder weather here in Gloucestershire, healthcare professionals in the county are reminding people to get their covid-19 and Flu Vaccinations booked.
According to experts, it is now easier than ever to protect yourself and those around you from Flu and Covid-19.
Flu and Covid vaccines are available this year at GP practices, local pharmacies, schools, care homes, and community settings across Gloucestershire.
Dr Geeta Iyer, a Place Clinical Director at NHS Gloucestershire said, ''Vaccines are quick and easy to get, and one of the best ways to protect yourself and those around you from serious illness caused by flu and COVID-19.''
''Both flu and COVID-19 can cause serious illness and hospitalisation with older people, those with long-term health conditions and people with weakened immune systems particularly vulnerable.''
''We are already seeing flu cases in our hospitals, and Covid-19 continues to circulate. Please don’t wait, if you’re eligible for a vaccine, get protected as soon as you can.''
Flu jabs are available for people aged sixty five or over, those with long-term health conditions, pregnant women, care home residents, carers, and children including those in reception to year eleven.
The Covid vaccine is being offered to adults aged seventy five and over, care home residents, and anyone aged six months or over who is immunosuppressed.
People can book through the NHS App, the national booking system online, or by calling 119.
