Forest Green owner Dale Vince says the club have initiated legal proceedings over their former manager Robbie Savage's exit to Peterborough.

Vince said in a post on X on Friday morning that the National League team had begun a legal process over what he alleged was the "tapping up" of Savage by the League One club.

Vince described the legal action as "hassle that we didn't want", before adding "but what are you gonna do?"

Peterborough have been approached for comment.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has previously posted on X that the appointment of Savage was "100 per cent proper, following all rules".

Savage left Forest Green on 2nd October.

In an interview with BBC Radio Gloucestershire earlier this month, Vince said Savage "is a friend and it was very hard to say no, so I said 'fine, go and talk to them'".

"Peterborough themselves have covered themselves in no glory here. They came to us and said 'we would like to speak to your manager'," Vince said.

"We said 'no' and so they spoke to him and then he came to us and said 'I hear Peterborough want to speak to me'. So, that's an illegal approach," he said.
