Takeaway driver robbed in Cambuslang

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in Cambuslang.

Around 11pm on Friday, 3 April, 2026 a male takeaway driver was making a delivery in Hamilton Road when he was approached by a man with a knife who threatened him and demanded he hand over the food.

The victim then ran off from the scene and police were called.

The suspect is described as being around 30 years of age, approximately 5ft 9in tall, with short brown hair and was wearing a light-coloured hooded top.

Detective Constable Heather Latta said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured during this incident, but it was a very distressing experience.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or noticed a man matching the description, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage, which could assist the investigation, to come forward.”
