Two more arrests made in alleged human trafficking case in Essex

Two more people have been arrested as Essex Police continue an investigation into human trafficking for sexual exploitation, rape and other sexual offences.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in Danbury, while a 24-year-old man was detained in the Thames Valley area.

Both remain in custody.

Two men from Southwood Chase in Danbury have already been charged.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow (57) and Scott Drewitt-Barlow (32) are due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 5 June, and will remain in custody until then.

Detective Inspector Lydia George, leading the investigation, said:

“I would again appeal to anyone reading or hearing this who has information they feel ready to share with us to please come forward and contact us through the Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP).

"When you make contact, the investigation team will provide you with any specialist support you may need.”
