Two dancers taking part in the Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance Trust's Strictly event this evening say it is an "honour" to raise money for the charity.

Mike and Jody will be doing a Viennese waltz and a cha-cha tonight as they hope to win over celebrity judges.

The pair will be performing at the Brentwood Centre this evening, hoping to win a trophy in aid of the Air Ambulance.

They will be dancing in front of celebrity guests, hosts and judges, like David Whiteley, Lisa Snowdon, Dani Dyer, Vincent Simone, and Victoria Martin.

Jody said they are going to enjoy it:

"It's almost like the adult version of making up a dance and making your family sit down and watch it, but with celebrity guests and all the glitz and glam.

"We're ready and now it's kind of about just kind of forgetting all the nerves and just going and really enjoying it.

"We've been doing probably a couple of hours a week of practice since November, and obviously trying to work because we both work full time as well.

"You have no idea how you will perform until the day because also it depends on how your nerves are as you walk onto the floor."

Mike said that it is great to raise money for the charity:

"It's an honour to raise money for this charity.

"We are super excited, but also super nervous too. It's going to be a great night and I have been working hard with Jody to learn the routine.

"We've got a Mary Poppins mash-up with a Viennese Waltz, and then Fame, and we will be performing a Cha-Cha to that.

"The whole night from start to finish will be a pure spectacle, and there's some fantastic, talented young dancers that will be performing."
