New drop off charges at Stansted

New charges will come into force next week for people dropping off passengers at Stansted Airport.

From the 19th of March visitors will now pay £10 for stays up to 15 minutes, whereas those who stay over this time will face a fee of £28, with a maximum stay of 30 minutes.

The previous costs were £7 and £25 for corresponding durations, indicating a 30% and 12% increase in charges.

The airport maintains that its Express Set Down area is optimal for quick drop-offs.

For those looking to avoid paying a charge, free drop-off is still available at the Mid Stay Car Park.

There, passengers can use the shuttle bus service to reach the main terminal.

Pre-booked parking options remain the same.
