A sold out Fish and Chip Quiz Night held in Frinton-on-Sea in Essex has raised over £1,200 for the local RSPCA branch.

The event welcomed over 100 attendees to the seaside spot of Frinton-on-Sea, where guests enjoyed a fish and chip meal, and seven competitive rounds of mostly animal-themed quiz questions.

The winning team, named "The Cackling Hens & Karl", took top honours and were presented with trophies.

The event also featured live music, which formed a round of the quiz.

Derrick Yapp, Income Generation Manager for RSPCA Essex Mid & North Branch, praised the collective effort that made the evening such a success:

"We’ve never tried a fundraiser quite like this before," said Derrick. "The team effort of everyone involved was vital, but we anticipated a good night once tickets started selling out so quickly. We get fantastic support in this area, especially from local businesses who generously donated prizes to our raffle. We can't wait to come back and do another one in the new year."

Derrick extended special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Frinton RSPCA shop, as well as the Frinton on Sea Community Association, for their help and support throughout the event.
