Police investigating as geese injured in Waltham Abbey area

Police are appealing for anyone with information or footage that will assist their investigation into injured animals in the Waltham Abbey area.

Three geese were injured in River Lee Country Park between April 29 and 4 May 2026.

Officers believe a slingshot, catapult or crossbow was used.

If you have any information about this incident, you are being asked to contact Essex Police, quoting the crime reference number 42/69435/26.

They would also be keen to hear from anyone who witnesses wildlife being injured, even if it is not connected to this incident.
