A man has been treated for serious injuries after a collision on the A12.

It happened northbound between Marks Tey and Stanway at around 8.30pm on Saturday (18 October).

Police were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision, with a car leaving the carriageway before catching fire,

A man was treated for serious injuries and remains in hospital.

A road closure remained in place overnight due to the damage caused.

It has since been lifted and Essex Police have thanked the public for their patience, recognising the significant disruption caused.
