A man has been charged as part of a police investigation into an assault in Market Place, Braintree in November.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday 23rd of November, where a man suffered a severe head injury. He is currently recovering.

Police had appealed for more information on a man they'd identified as part of their investigation. On Friday, officers arrested a man from Kent on suspicion of GBH.

He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court later today.

Police say that enquiries are ongoing to locate a second suspect in the investigation.

Acting Detective Inspector Dan Smith, of Braintree CID, said: “This investigation is continuing to progress, and I would again encourage anyone with information on the incident to please come forward and speak to us.”
