Four arrested after reports of fighting in Southend

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in Southend.

This is a two groups of people were reported to police for fighting in the early hours of Easter Sunday.

A man was found with stab wounds, he has suffered serious injuries.

Chief Superintendent Chris Bradford said: ā€œI understand how concerning this incident will be to the local community today.

ā€œI want to reassure you that officers have made quick arrests and we believe that those involved are known to each other.

ā€œYou will see an increased policing presence in the area and I encourage you to come and talk to us. I would also ask anyone who has information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us.

ā€œThis investigation is in its early stages, but this type of violent behaviour has no place in Southend and we will not tolerate it.ā€
