Former Essex Police officer admits misconduct in public office

57-year-old accepts offences relating to misuse of systems and inappropriate relationship

A former Essex Police officer has admitted misconduct in public office, including misusing police systems and engaging in an intimate relationship with a victim of crime.

David Wren, 57, from Feering, admitted the offences at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, 12th December 2025.

The charges were part of an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Wren is due to be sentenced at the same court on 16th February 2026.
