A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Witham on suspicion of supplying drugs after a search uncovered cocaine and cannabis worth £250,000.

The arrest took place on 27th January at a house in the Maldon Road area of the town.

Officers from Braintree Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant at the property, where they found several bricks of suspected cocaine and large bags of cannabis.

The man remains in custody, and inquiries are ongoing.

Inspector Phil Jackson said:

“Drugs cause misery and harm to people and attract violence to our communities.

“My officers work tirelessly to take drugs off our streets and arrest, charge and prosecute those responsible for bringing them here.

“But we do need the help of our communities to do this so please, if you have information about drug supply or drug dealing in your neighbourhood, please let us know.

“You can do this online via our website at www.essex.police.uk/ro or by ringing 101.

"If you wish to provide information anonymously, you can do this by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
